Mathematical Models in Natural Sciences

LE/PS, WS17/18, 4 hours
The content of the main lecture varies from year to year and it will take place from the beginning of october to the end of november. The remaining time is reserved for talks from students (to students), in which they deal with special topics or examples that come up during the main lecture or simply give an account of a lectures section. You are free to choose documents for your talk, but I insist on using the main lectures notations. Try not to introduce new concepts or at least explain them using terms that were used in the lecture. I consider it incomprehendsible to give old concepts new names!
You may deal with a topic individually or in a group, that largly depends on the number of participants. As an approximate guideline the number of students should roughly equal the length of the talk in hours (teaching units); minimum length of a talk is one hour and maximal lenght four hours.

Complex Variables

LE, 4 hours
Oral exam by agreement
EX, 2 units
Minimum requirement for a positive graduation: you have to tick one forth of all examples and need to explain three of them to your colleagues on the blackboard - these numbers are based on a total of ten participants.
Tick lists and examples for the following week can be found under www.quixquax.at ▶ Ticklists ▶ Complex.
